Local vendors showcase their products at The Narrows

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- The Saturday following Black Friday is often viewed as “Small Business Saturday.” Saturday in Zaneville’s historic district of Putnam, The Narrows hosted a marketplace to highlight small businesses in our area.
Roughly a dozen vendors showcased their products at The Narrows Saturday morning. CEO Brad Paquette hopes customers are able to find one of a kind holiday gifts.
“We just have such a fantastic community of artisans, farmers, drafters, and producers in this community,” Paquette said. “We just wanted to provide an opportunity for them to get some retails exposure. I think it’s a great opportunity for shoppers to find so many great products all in one place as well.”
Paquette said events such as this one are important for the local economy.
“When you’re thinking about spending a dollar, you can spend that at a big box store,” Paquetter mentioned. “Or you can spend that in a way that’s also going to help your local community and your neighbor at the same time.
“We also have several winter farmer’s markets throughout the year,” Paquette said. “To provide an opportunity for farmers to sell their products through the colder months and we have a variety of artist events throughout the rest of the year as well.”
