MCCA holds “Pars for Pups” golf outing

ZANESVILLE, Ohio — For the second consecutive year, the Muskingum County Canine Advocates held their “Pars For Pups” Golf Outing at Crystal Spring Golf Course.
The event included 28 teams, consisting of four members per team, and all proceeds raised will go towards funds to help build a new facility for the Muskingum County Dog Warden.
“We’re here to raise money for the Muskingum County Canine Advocates, which is a volunteer group who volunteers for the dogs of Muskingum County. Helps get them adopted, and gets them new homes. The goal here is we’re raising funds to build a new facility in Muskingum County for the Dog Warden Center,” explained Mike Alfman, a volunteer for the MCCA.
Alfman says that they received even more support this year than last, and thanked community members, sponsors, and volunteers for helping make the outing a success once again.
“We’ve got 36 sponsors and last year we raised $10,000 and we’re ahead of that for this year. We’re very appreciative of the community for coming out– the golfers, the sponsors, the volunteers– and it’s a great day to be out here and play golf and raise money for the Mmuskingum County Canines,” added Alfman.
The event Saturday included a “Half and Half” competition, a Chinese Auction– many items of which Alfman says were provided by Winerak’s, a putting competition, food, drinks, and more.
The MCCA will also be holding their “Pup Cup” event on July 8th. The event is a 5K walk/run, and for more information you can visit their website at themcca.com.
