MCCF Announces 2022 First Half Distribution Totals

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The Muskingum County Community Foundation announced that it has distributed more than $790,000 in grants, awards, and scholarships during the first half of 2022.
MCCF Chief Executive Officer Brian Wagner announced that the foundation has more than $32 Million in assets and discussed the responsibilities involved in managing and maintaining those resources that provide much needed financial support for area organizations.
“Every year we like to update the community on the impact that the generosity of our previous donors have made. The funds that we are announcing today that have been awarded are the annual distributions that we make to organizations and causes that donors, who decided to entrust their dollars with MCCF, are making back into the community,” Wagner said.
A large portion of the assets are ‘endowed funds,’ funds that are donated to support a specific charity or organization. Wagner explained how the endowed funds work.
“The way these funds are set up each year, we are able to make a distribution out to causes that donors believe in. Donors have come to us over the years and have entrusted dollars to us into funds and those funds then provide annual support to the causes they believe in,” Wagner said. “One of the great things about what we do at the Community Foundation is we hold those funds in perpetuity in these endowments and they year in and year out will continue to support organizations within Muskingum County to help improve the quality of life.”
