MCCF Preparing for 2023 Groundhog Day Celebration
ZANESVILLE, Oh – Preparations for Muskingum County Community Foundation’s Annual Groundhog Day Celebration and Auction are underway.
The event, in it’s 28th year will be Friday, January 27th, 2023 at the Zane State College Campus Center.
Returning to in-person, the Groundhog Day celebration will feature the presentation of the Dick Johnson Civic Leadership and Brian T. Wagner Community Leadership awards, along with both silent and live auctions and even a special raffle for those who favorite MCCF on Yodel.
Food and beverages from Marco Adornetto and the Zane State Culinary Arts Program will also be provided as attendees mingle and enjoy the evening.
“It’s just great opportunity to reconnect with our friends and neighbors after the first of the year. The holidays get so busy and everybody gets so involved in things. Having this, around Groundhog really gives people the chance to think about the first event that they’d like to do for the upcoming year.
Come out, socialize, see good friends and just help celebrate Muskingum County and the good works we do here in the community,” MCCF CEO Brian Wagner said.
Proceeds from ticket sales and the Groundhog Day Celebration will benefit community non-profits and help allow MCCF to continue their grant, scholarship, and community outreach programs, particularly MCCF’s 2023 grant competitions.
“Our live auction and silent auction will be going on as well. And we’re in the process now of collecting items. So if there’s businesses or organizations that would like to donate an item or perhaps contribute some funds to us as well to be able to purchase items, be happy to talk to them about that,”
So the dollars that come in during this event are going to go right back out into the community and are going to support programs and projects that are near and dear to Muskingum County’s heart,” Wagner added.
