MCCF Talks Scholarships

ZANESVILLE, Ohio-The Muskingum County Community Foundation reminds area students that their scholarships deadline is approaching.

The MCCF’s scholarships central features over fifty scholarships available. The deadline to apply is March 15th at 5 pm.

“Students should definitely check out our website, scholarshipcentral.org. From there there’s just a link to scholarships, and they’ll be able to search for ones they’re eligible for. They’ll be able to put in specific criteria to narrow down the list for them. They will come up in deadline order as well, so they can start at the top and work their way down. We’ve just got a lot of scholarships available for just about any type of student.”, educational services director Katie Mccarty told WHIZ.

The majority of scholarships are from local entities. Some scholarships act as top prizes for area graduating seniors.

“For graduating seniors we have the Trant Hickman scholarship, the Grant Hickman Memorial scholarship. Pretty much any Muskingum county senior is eligible for that one. The Josephine Sebach Scholarship is for students that are not necessarily the top of the class. They are actually looking for students that don’t have a 4.0 GPA.”, Mccarty said.

Every MCCF scholarship is free of application fees for area students.
