Each Friday we stop by the Animal Shelter in Muskingum County to feature our pet of the week.

This week we met 2-year-old Mama Patches. Mama Patches came to the shelter back in early July.

Executive Director, Jody Murray, said that she’s a main coon mix and her adoption fee is only $30.

“She’s a very nice cat,” said Murray. “She’s a little timid and she’s going to need someone who has plenty of patience, maybe someone who has had cats in the past.”

Murray said that the kennel that Mama Patches is in is a sponsored kennel by Sheri Ryan who has helped over 50 cats find new homes through the program that she sponsors.

“We typically put cats in here that either hard to place, have been at the shelter for a long time, or have special needs, which results in the low adoption fees.”
