Mid-East Career Center hosts vehicle career day

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- Mid-East Career Center hosts a vehicle career day for middle school students.
Around 300 sixth grade students from Zanesville City Schools traveled to the Mid-East campus to attend the fair. There the students listened to presentations from many businesses and professions that utilize vehicles in their line of work.
“Our area sixth graders are here to look at vehicles, to see how they’re used in the world of work, to learn about career pathways within those businesses and industries, and also to learn about pathways at Mid-East,” said Robin McQuaid the Career Specialist at Mid-East.
The students are able to learn about different careers they can pursue and learn about the education or training they will need to get a job.
“Our area businesses are talking about the education and training that is needed for the positions within their company. Some of these are on the job training. Some of these you get training at the career center. Some you can go to college for two years or more. So it just depends on what the businesses are looking for.”
Some of the fields represented at the fair were Zemba Brothers, Zanesville Fire Department, Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office, MedFlight, and Dutro Ford.
