Moana Jr. the Musical Held at the Renner Theater

ZANESVILLE, OH- A musical about Moana opened up at Renner Theater with a cast of kids from 8-18 years old.
Music Teacher and Assistant Band Director of Philo, Kari Scott spoke about how she wanted to feature a musical that captures the essence of youth and also explains her favorite part of the musical.
“Moana was a beautiful story and features all of our amazing kids. My favorite part of the musical is when Grandma dies, that sounds very sad but our kids have brought out their acting skills and you feel all of the feels when Grandma passes away and all of the kids mourn her, it’s amazing, I love it,” she said.
Co-director Tahnee Kay discusses how fun practice was for the cast of the musical.
“We actually did day time practices which is something that’s new for the show, kind of almost like a four-hour day camp where we had lunch and I think the kids had a lot of fun with it,” she said.
The musical will continue August 12 at 8:00 pm, Saturday August 13 will be the Matinee at 2:30 pm, and then next Sunday is the Final show, August 14th at 7:00 pm.
