ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Zanesville’s model railroad club has spent this past weekend showing off their new downtown location.

The Zane Trace National Model Railroad Club opened up their new 6th Street location to guests Sunday and Saturday. Club President Brian Harrier said their new location offers them more options than their previous one.

“I like it a lot. We have more room. It gives us a chance to start over and use new ideas and just make something different. The old club was there for more than 30 years. It’s like a clean slate to start over. Build something different for everybody,” said Harrier.

Not all the members of the club have been around as long as Harrier. Josh Gooden is a junior member of the model train club. He said his grandfather got him interested in the hobby and he likes the new space too.

“It’s better than what we used to have last time. It’s more spread out and better looking,” said Goodman.

If you’re interested in becoming a member of the model train club you can attend their weekly meetings at 7 p.m. at 24 south 6th Street, on the second floor.
