Multiple gardening lectures in May
Two organizations are giving you the opportunity to master your garden.
The John McIntie Library and the Zanesville Museum of Art are joining together for a five part gardening lecture series. It starts Saturday May 2, with a bonsai lecture. Executive Director of the Museum of Art, Laine Snyder, explained the series.
“We’re thrilled to be having these lectures because there’s so many wonderful gardeners in this community, and we have Art in the Garden Gala and garden tour coming up as well, and we thought we would combine initiatives and do a series of gardening lectures,” she said.
Snyder said the lectures will feature five of the region’s leading gardeners. She said they created the series because there are many gardeners and art lovers in the community.
“It is really art and garden design,” Snyder said. “We have so many gardeners in this community, and we have so many artists and art lovers in the community, it seemed like a perfect merger, and I know the library too. They have wonderful lecture series, so it’s really a natural partnership for us.”
Snyder added that the series gives gardeners a way to learn creative ways to craft their gardens. The five lectures are listed below.
“The Artistry of Bonsai” with the Columbus Bonsai Society’s Tom Holcomb: May 2, at 1:00 p.m. at the John McIntire Library.
