Musk. Co. Center for Seniors is putting hold on meal deliveries

Senior Center

ZANESVILLE – The center is doing this because it was informed by the Muskingum County Health Department that one of its employees had tested positive for COVID-19. As a result, 22 of the center’s employees are being placed in quarantine.

“We are unable to prepare and deliver the number of meals that we do on a daily basis because a majority of our staff is being placed in quarantine,” Muskingum County Center for Seniors Exec. Director Ann Combs said.

Although seniors do not have access to those meals at this time, Combs said the Center for Seniors does have a plan in place.

“We need to instruct those seniors that we do have a plan in place and they all have two weeks of shelf-stable meals that are provided to them back in April. When all of the COVID came out we developed an emergency plan and provided all of our seniors with that food. So, we don’t want anyone going hungry and we should have enough food to get them through this time period,” Combs said.

Combs said the center would like to offer some kind of meal delivery system again soon. However, at this time, she is not sure when that will happen.
