Muskingum ready for homecoming matchup with Baldwin Wallace

Muskingum

NEW CONCORD, Ohio – Muskingum (1-4, 0-4) will look to replicate what they did to Baldwin Wallace (3-2, 2-2) last year when they host the Yellow Jackets for homecoming this Saturday.

Last year the Muskies trailed BW at halftime 13-0, but scored 14 unanswered to beat the Yellow Jackets in Berea 14-13. This year’s Yellow Jacket will be looking to win their third in a row when they come to New Concord Saturday.

The Muskies have lost four in a row since their season opening win, but they’re coming off of a much needed bye week.

“I’m not sure we could of played last week because we had so many guys banged up. We’ve still got guys on crutches and all of that. We really needed this week off,” said head coach Al Logan.

The Yellow Jackets have a new head coach this year. Jim Hilvert was hired in January to direct BW after he lead  Cincinnati’s La Salle High School for two years.

BW’s offensive will be guided by junior quarterback Jake Hudson. He enters Saturday as the team’s leading passer and rusher.

“Their quarterback does it all for them. We’ve got to be able to spy him a little bit and keep a guy on him at all times. He likes to run and he does a nice job of throwing the ball down the sidelines,” said Logan.

This will be the 61st meeting between Muskingum and Baldwin Wallace. BW holds the all time series lead 44-14-2 and they first met on the football field in 1916.

Saturday’s game kick off at 1:30 from McConagha Stadium.
