ZANESVILLE, Ohio- Members from the Muskingum Valley Park District also met with county commissioners Thursday.

Since 2013 the district has been without a director. During the meeting a district consultant discussed the funding for the position.

“There was a discussion as to who would be employing the director, potential compensation, composition of the park district board, and really creating a partnership between the park district and the commissioners,” Muskingum Valley Park, District Consultant, Al Iacovone said.

The job has not yet being advertised, because an agreement still needs to be made regarding funding.

“Depending on the ability to budget for the position, that it could be done fairly quickly once that’s in place. The next thing is to get the job description discussed, board membership, composition, and how this partnership would work,” Iacovone said.

Iacovone said once the park district receives funding they will begin advertising for a new park director.
