MVESC will be hosting free parenting workshops

ZANESVILLE – The Parenting Wisely program is designed for parents of children aged 3 to 11. The seminars are being conducted entirely virtually and are made possible from a near $15,000 grant from the Ohio Children’s Trust Fund.
“It’s part of a prevention program. The curriculum will be using what is called Parenting Wisely and my hope is to make them really interactive depending on the audience and it’s just a great opportunity for parents to get some tips and some tricks about helping with their children and some difficult behaviors that they may be challenged everyday. So, hopefully, we’ll have good discussions and great participation and help parents be less stressed in dealing with their children,” MVESC Pre-School Services Director Krystal McFarland said.
The sessions are offered to any parent who may be interested.
“It’s open to anyone in our service region so they don’t have to be enrolled in any type of programming through the Muskingum Valley ESC. They can just be a parent in the area (or) in the community that would like to attend the program,” McFarland said.
The first seminar is on February 9th from 2:00 to 5:00 PM. More information about the program can be found on the Muskingum Valley Educational Service Center’s Facebook page.
