New Artisanal Soaps Come to Farmers Market

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- The Zanesville Farmers Market is now home to a brand new artisanal soap vendor.
Haley Shaw is new to the area and new to soap making. She started her Dany Cat Designs during the initial COVID lockdown. She says her process is a lot like that of any artist.
“I will come up with a monthly theme, and then I will design four to five soaps every month based around that theme. I’ve got the Avatar theme right now, so i think about what I’m into, what’s popular, and then sort of think about the colors i want and then think about how the scents would fit in.”
Soap bars range from five dollars to ten dollars and there are various cheaper options. Each bar is made in the most efficient way possible.
“All of them are made with a cold processed soap method, so they use oils and lye to make the soaps. They’re all sort of inspired by nerdy pop culture things. I’ve got a greek mythology collection, currently I’ve got an Avatar the Last Airbender themed. Coming up I’ll have a Harry Potter one, I’ll have some Dungeons and Dragons things. Definitely a big nerd!”
Soap can also be purchased off of her website, danycatsdesigns.com.
