New Lex softball comes up short in district title game

ATHENS, Ohio – The New Lexington softball team lost a pitcher’s duel Thursday evening in the district championship game.

The Panthers and Waverly were scoreless heading into the sixth inning. The Tigers were able to push across a run in the top of the sixth to take their first lead. It proved to be the game’s only run and Waverly left Ohio University with the victory and the district title.

Waverly will move on to the regional tournament in Pickerington.
