New Recreational Opportunities at Dillon State Park

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The Fieldhouse Foundation creates new and improved recreational opportunities at Dillon State Park.
Dillon State Park has seen the creation of five new recreational sports and fitness opportunities thanks to the Fieldhouse Foundation’s year long effort along with the Partners- in- Parks Program.
“One of the important behaviors in order to stay healthy, live longer and stay in better condition is physical activity. That’s what we’re all about. Parks are just a natural place for people to engage in physical activity free of charge,” said Mick Amicone, CEO, the Fieldhouse Family Sports and Wellness Center.” The Fieldhouse Foundation feels charged to go ahead and provide that because, the foundation is a non-profit as is the state park system. We just feel that it is important to give back try to keep people healthy at zero cost.”
The new amenities include: two new pickle ball courts, a 50 yard football and soccer field, two refurbished volleyball courts, two basketball courts and two new tennis courts.
“Our hope is that other people will take a look at what’s free and maybe doing some other good for the community and provide some of those other amenities, there’s a whole laundry list of of things that we could do but, that’s what we are hoping. Are hope is that other people step up and do some things so we can continue free fitness activities,” said Amicone.
Amicone said with the recent addition of the new restroom and washroom facilities, the park will enjoy continued utilization for years to come.
