New WHIZ Website Mobile Ready

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – WHIZ is anticipating the launch of our new website at the end of this week.

The new site will still have the familiar URL of ‘whiznews.com,’ but as WHIZ’s Scott Lauka explains, it will be more compatible with non-PC devices.

“What we are trying to do with the new website is make it more accessible to the mobile platforms,” said Lauka. “The cellphones, the tablets, and so forth. Previously when you went to those devices on our current site, you get the whole site. We’ve got it more dynamically loading now.”

Lauka said that even in just the past few years, there has been a huge shift in how people use and view the internet.

“Some of the last stats we we’re looking at is that 75% of our users are coming from the mobile platforms verse the desktop. We’ve been wanting to change our website for several years and it’s been a chore to try to keep up with all the changes,” said Lauka.

The new website will roll out this Friday, just in time to view it for our complete coverage of high school football.
