The New Year’s Baby is Here

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Kati and Ryan Jordan spent their New Year’s celebrating but not for the new year.

They welcomed their New Year baby, Duane Jordan, into the world at 12:12 a.m. on January 1st, 2019 at Genesis Hospital. He weighed 6 pounds, 8 ounces and was 20 inches long.

“I was having contractions since Friday. I went into the doctors on Thursday, had contractions Friday, came in Sunday. I was dilated 3 and he came Tuesday,” Kati Jordan said.

Although Kati was in labor for almost 2 days, she says everything went very smoothly and their doctor said they can probably plan to go back home tomorrow. Ryan said he is ready to take Duane home and surround him with the rest of their family.

“Overexcited. Overwhelmed. Just overall he was healthy, that’s all I cared about. That’s all I was worried about,” Ryan Jordan said. “I’m very well anxious. I can’t wait to have him meet everybody.”

The original due date was January 16th but it seems Duane had other plans.
