COLUMBUS, Ohio – The second seeded Newark Wildcats lost just their second game of the year and were bounced from the tournament Saturday at Ohio Dominican University.

The Wildcats fell to Pickerington North 59-58. Trailing by two and with a second left in the game, Pick North’s Matt Lanier hit a game winning three-pointer to lift the Panthers past Newark 59-58 and give them the district title.

The Wildcats finished the year 24-2, with both defeats coming to Pickerington high schools.
