Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree

For those of you who are trading in your synthetic tree in favor of a live one, there are some things you need to know.

Once you’ve measured the height of your ceiling and decided the size of tree your home can handle, according to Bob Daniels, the owner of Bob’s Tree Farm, transportation is the next important step.

"If they’re going to get a live tree, and they’re going to go to a tree farm and get it cut, obviously they have to have some way to secure it when they pick it up. "

Once you get your tree home, then comes the fun part… decorating! However, having a live tree in your home can also be dangerous. The key to keeping your home safe is water. A hydrated tree is much less likely to catch fire than a dry tree. There are also some safety precautions to take when it come to decorations.

"Of course whatever you’re using if your using lights and stuff make sure the lights are proper, the extension cords are good, your outlets are proper. You don’t want a lot of distance on your cord from the tree to the outlet," said Daniels.

When decorated and watered properly, live Christmas trees can be a welcomed addition to your home this holiday season. If you would like to get your tree from Bob’s Tree Farm, you call the (740) 819-4336 to schedule an appointment.
