Ohio State not invited to NIT

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Nobody was surprised when Ohio State didn’t make the NCAA Tournament. However, some might have been surprised to see that the basketball Buckeyes didn’t make the National Invitational Tournament either.

The 32 teams in the NIT were announced without Ohio State being one of them. The Buckeyes went 17-15 this year and were bounced in the first round of the Big Ten Tournament. They were listed as one of the teams that just missed the cut.

This will be the first year that OSU fails to make any post season tournament since Thad Matta’s first season in 2005.
