OMEGA met with Muskingum County Commissioners

ZANESVILLE, OHIO- The Ohio Mid- Eastern Government Association- OMEGA for short, met with Muskingum County Commissioners Monday.
The new Executive Director Jeannette Wierzbicki met with the commissioners to give them an overview of OMEGA, inquire to see if there is anything OMEGA could help the commissioners with, and to ask if there where any improvements OMEGA should make. Wierzbicki told us about the project they are currently working on.
“We’re continuing to work on the implementation of our regional transportation plan,” Wierzbicki said. “Where we can provide technical assistance to folks including road way safety audits, which we assisted Muskingum County Engineering office with.”
Weirzbicki said OMEGA is also working with the City of Zanesville on it’s downtown revitalization effort. As well as the efforts to make the community more bicycle and pedestrian friendly. Wierzbicki said with the dues the commissioners pay to be a part of the organization it helps fund projects.
“This enables us to help all of the communities in Muskingum County. A lot of our small villages and townships don’t have the resources to compete for grants like some of the more urban areas do. And this gives us an opportunity for provide those services,” Wierzbicki said.
