One-car rollover accident on State Route 146

Roll Over Car Dk

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – A one-car accident on State Route 146 sent one man to the hospital and briefly slowed down traffic Wednesday evening.

The rollover crash occurred around 6:30 p.m. in between Marshall Hill Drive and Hampton Court. The driver of the vehicle was the only person in the car and left the vehicle under his own power, but was transported to Genesis to be checked out.

Trooper Kevin Kelley with the Zanesville Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol explains what happened.

“We had a red Chevy pickup truck going westbound on State Route 146. For some unknown reason he drove left of the center and went off the left side of the road, through the guardrail, hit a small tree, and overturned,” said Trooper Kelley.

Trooper Kelley said he did not expect injuries to be life threatening and he believes that distracted driving played a part in the crash. Licking Township Fire Department responded to the accident and no other vehicles were involved.

The crash remains under investigation.
