ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Organizers gear up for the 9th Annual ‘Earth to Arts’ event.

The annual event will take place on the front lawn of the John McIntire Library in downtown Zanesville on Saturday August 6th and will feature vibrant displays of plants as well as paintings and photography.

“We’re hoping that when they come they will see a lot of talent of things that people have put together. Get some ideas of things that they can do on they’re own home. Then with the educational classes that we’re having is a part of what Master Gardeners are. They’re there to educate the public on horticultural practices and so we’re hoping that with the classes and what they see here in the entries that they’re going to home with some ideas that they can use in their own garden” said Kathy Mohler, Member, Muskingum County Master Gardeners.

Mohler said proceeds raised from the event will provide grants to area educators in Muskingum County to fund classroom projects that serve horticultural purposes.

“As long as it has something to do with horticultural in the classroom, whether it be a planting a butterfly garden, or raise a vegetable garden or anything like that, that would help the kids learn about horticultural we encourage them to do that,” said Mohler.

There event will also feature a silent auction, live music and a 50/50 drawing.
