OUZ Provides Career Closet to Students and Alumni

Ouz Career Closet

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- With the newly launched career closet at Ohio University Zanesville (OUZ), the students and alumni are able to dress for success.

OUZ Career Services is now providing free business professional and business casual clothing to students for internships, interviews, networking and more of all things career related, according to Corey Kundert, Carreer Coach at OUZ.

“Its purpose is to essentially help minimize barriers for entry for our students entering the workforce. It’s just a really great and impactful resource,” Kundert stated. “It’s basically designed as a little store and so it provides them access to those clothes in a way that also preserves human dignity, which is an important part of the work that we do in career services at Ohio Zanesville.”

All items supplied were donated by Ohio Zanesville faculty and staff, campus partners and community members.

Kundert said that the Career Closet also provides additional services like career coaching, resume and cover letter reviews, mock interviews and more.

“A lot of times now the industry moves so quick and those needs are ever changing, and move rapidly so we’re always trying to be ahead of those curves and those needs for what employers are looking for, and what makes them competent and effective in their roles. So trying to always be adaptive with how we’re working with our students to make sure that they can make that transition successfully and really provide meaningful work for the employers in the community,” Kundert said.

The Career Closet is available to students and alumni all year round and can schedule an appointment directly with Kundert or by going through Handshake, a career based website for students.
