Paws Spay-Neuter Assistance Program Auction Sale

ZANESVILLE, OH- It’s always important to make sure your dogs or cats are spayed and neutered in order to keep your pet safe and healthy and reduce the animal population. But it can be expensive and a lot of families who have pets can’t afford to get their pets spayed and neutered.

That’s why the Paws Spay-Neuter Assistance Program hosts an Auction Sale every year and sell a bunch of products for an affordable price to raise money that helps people get their pets spayed and neutered. President of Paws Muskingum County Spay-Neuter Assistance Program Teresa Hildebrand discussed about what kind of items they’re selling for the auction.

“This is our largest fundraiser for the year, we have an assortment of brand-new items, donated items, we have a huge amount of stuff that’s been donated by Pet Smart. We are one of the Pet Smart Adoption Partners and we have dozens upon dozens of beds, jackets, coats, collars, Aquarium items, brand new aquarium stands, patio doors, if you’re looking for some Christmas shopping, please come to our event tomorrow.”

Hildebrand also discussed about why this auction is important to the community and Zanesville and to pets as a whole.

“We are closing in on close to two-thousand spays and neuters this year; these are animals that are not going to get spayed and neutered without our assistance. A lot of these people are seniors, low-income people who cannot afford to get their animal spayed and neutered, these are animals that produce anywhere from 70% to 80% of puppies and kittens that end up in our shelters every year.”

The goal for the auction is to raise $6,000 to $9,000 for the goal of being able to help those who can’t afford getting their pets spayed and neutered. Located at 3867 Northpoint Drive, The auction will start tomorrow on December 10th from 9 am to 1 pm.
