Pet of the Week: Meet Lucky

ZANESVILLE, OH- This week’s Pet of the Week is someone who has a great personality and loves to run in open areas. Lucky is a 4 month old German Shepherd puppy who loves being with dogs and cats, is neutered, loves eating bacon and is full of energy.
Executive Director of the Animal Shelter Society April Cohagen Gibson discussed about the important responsibility of adopting a puppy.
“What folks have to keep in mind is that when you bring in a 4 month old puppy, there’s a great deal of work and time that goes into that. When they leave the Shelter here, we’re not a training facility so we’re here to care for them medically and get them situated to a good home, it’s going to take a lot of work for the family.”
Gibson also wanted to talk about their upcoming fundraiser called Yappy Hour.
“We are gearing up for our 7th annual Yappy Hour, it is Thursday on March the 9th and it is one of our favorite and biggest fundraisers of the year for the shelter. As a non-profit, that’s how we’re able to care for the over one-hundred animals in our building and to employ over 16 local folks.”
The annual Yappy Hour is being held at the Zanesville Country Club from 6:00 pm until 8:30 pm, tickets can be purchased at the Animal Shelter Society and if you have any questions about Yappy Hour or if you’re interested in adopting Lucky or any other pet, you can give them a call at (740)-452-1077 or visit their website at animalsheltersociety.org.
