Port Authority Discusses Road Slip Repair

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The Zanesville-Muskingum County Port Authority discussed the Eastpointe Business Park road slip repair during their meeting on Wednesday, March 20th.
This was a project the Port Authority started working on last year but it was delayed due to wet weather. Executive Director Matt Abbott said it is one of the main arteries at Eastpointe Business Park.
“That project was delayed last year,” Abbott said. “Kind of started work, we had a wet Spring, a wet Summer, and a wet Fall so that project was delayed.”
Abbott said that they have remobilized on the site that leads directly to Dollar General. For Port Authority, one thing they always have to consider first is the funding.
“There’s different opportunities out there where we can dip into different funding sources and different levels of funding. Whether it’s local, state or federal, has some different stipulations that come with those dollars so trying to navigate and sort through and do a cost-benefit analysis of what it’s going to cost to get these funds and what our timing is going to be,” Abbott said.
They have started working on the project once again and Abbott said hopefully they can get it turned around pretty quickly for the employees affected. To learn more about Port Authority and what they do, head to their website.
