Raise The Roof Success

ZANESVILLE, OH – The American Legion Post 29 here in Zanesville had their Raise the Roof Fundraiser Saturday afternoon.
The post has needed a new roof for sometime now, so they will be hosting fundraisers throughout the summer to raise money. Coordinator of the Fundraiser, Sandy Groves says they need to raise nearly $100,000 to replace the roof. Groves hopes this event will go a long way towards a new roof.
“I think we have done really good so far and we are just getting started. We’ve raised over 16 thousand so far and we’ve got a long way to go but today has been really great so far and we want to keep it up,” said Groves.
Organizer of the fundraiser, Cody Clark said the American Legion does so much for the community, it is great to see the community returning the favor in a time of need. Clark said there are all kinds of events going on for Raise the Roof, including a car show at the post.
“We have a car show out front, we have a Poker Run which most of the guys have already taken off on the Poker Run, so hope it doesn’t rain. There is a corn hole game to be started here real soon and then we have all the live auction tonight. We have the Chinese Auction going on here as you can see and we’ve got things we are raffling off, anything we can do to generate funds,” Clark said.
The American Legion wants to thank the community for their help and consideration.
