Random COVID-19 testing in Muskingum County

Coronavirus

ZANESVILLE, Ohio-– The Ohio Department of Health (ODH), in cooperation with The Ohio State University, is conducting a survey and providing no cost COVID-19 tests to a select number of residents.

A team will be in Muskingum County on Friday, July 17, 2020 through Monday, July 20, 2020.

A postcard went out the week of June 29 to random households letting them know about the study. An invitation letter went out this week to the same random households providing study information and ways to opt out.

Residents have an option to opt out but if they choose to participate, they will be swab tested.

If the test is positive, then the Zanesville-Muskingum County Health Department will reach out. A nurse will also collect blood to be tested for antibodies, which show whether the person had COVID-19 in the past.

Workers will be identified by badges and yellow t-shirts. If you have any questions please call 833-4-ASK-ODH
