ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Saturday’s Zanesville-Newark game at Winland Gymnasium pitted two of the area’s most talented teams against one another.

The Blue Devils entered the game undefeated and they had won all six of their games by double digits. However, the Wildcats jumped out to a 32-27 halftime lead and ended up the right side of the scoreboard 65-53.

Newark’s JT Shumate went of for a game high 31 points and was six-for-six from behind the arc. Zanesville was lead in scoring by Aronde Myers, who put up 18 points.

The Blue Devils get a week off before they hit the court again. They’ll play at Gahanna-Lincoln next Saturday.
