Salvation Army Cookie Sale
Wednesday afternoon the Salvation Army is giving people a chance to satisfy their sweet tooth.
The army is selling 38 dozen sugar coated cookies. The Women’s Auxiliary Group made 185 dozen cookies to raise money for the winter Coats for Kids drive. Employee, Dustin Redmond said the army relies on the Women’s Auxiliary Group.
“Without the women’s auxiliary we probably wouldn’t be able to do 50-75 percent of the things that we do here, so everything that they do benefits the Salvation Army and the community of Zanesville,” Redmond said.
Redmond added that 147 dozen cookies have already been sold. Those who pre-ordered can pick them up Wednesday morning and starting at 2:00 p.m. the remaining cookies will be for sale by the dozen.
“If we do run out of cookies they are more than welcome to come in and donate,” Redmond said. “We have different fundraisers going on in the building as well that they’d be able to donate to.”
Redmond said the Salvation Army aims to unite the community and make everything the organization does about the community.
