Salvation Army hosts annual Thanksgiving Dinner

ZANESVILLE, Ohio-Â The Salvation Army hosted their annual Thanksgiving dinner Wednesday evening.
The dinner is hosted each year and is open to the community.
Director of the Salvation Army, George Bates, said they’ve been doing this for as long as he can remember.
“I think the people enjoy it because it just makes them feel like they’re part of the family. We’re all looking for a place where we can be accepted and welcomed and Salvation Army, that’s who we are that’s what we do,” said Bates.
The dinner was complete with all the traditional Thanksgiving staples, and even included dessert. There was no charge for those who attended.
“And we couldn’t do it without the support of the community, we have such great partners,” said Bates.
Bates said they’re blessed to have such an awesome community.
“You just put a plea out and it’s amazing, people walk in they’re carrying turkey’s, they’re carrying checks, whatever you need. You just ask for help and it comes,” said Bates.
