Salvation Army Thanksgiving Dinner
The Salvation Army in Zanesville opened its doors to the community for a thanksgiving dinner this evening.
Tonight was the annual community Thanksgiving dinner at The Salvation Army and Ministry Assistant, Dustin Redmond, says they’ve been working hard to prepare for this dinner and are hoping to have an even better outcome than last year.
"We do it once a year, usually the day before Thanksgiving, we expect about 1,700 hundred people. Last year we did about 1,750 people so we’re hoping to get more this year to come from the community. We’re inviting the community, families, anyone who wants to come out and join our family for thanksgiving today."
Redmond says that none of this would be possible without the help from their volunteers or other community organizations.
"We just want to give thanks to The United Way, to Christ Table for their help-ing us, without them we wouldn’t of been able to put this on. So with their help and what they’ve donated to us and to the community, what they’ve donated, we were able to make this possible today."
Tonight’s dinner also included musical performances from The Salvation Army’s worship team.
