Scotties win pitcher’s duel over Generals

DRESDEN, Ohio — The Scotties defeated the Sheridan Generals on Thursday night by a final of 2-1, beating their MVL rivals from Thornville for the second time this season.

The game was scoreless for the first five-and-a-half innings until Tri-Valley broke the deadlock in the bottom of the 6th. Kaden Lawler and Tyler McLellan each plated runs with RBI singles to put the Scotties ahead 2-0.

The Generals didn’t go away quietly in the 7th though– Zack Wright hit a sacrifice fly in the 9th to cut the lead in half 2-1. But after the loading the bases with two outs, Tri-Valley made a pitching change and Chase Kendrick was able to get the final batter of the game to strike out swinging.
