Sheridan softball takes sectional title with walk-off win

THORNVILLE, Ohio – In an ole fashion pitching duel, the Sheridan softball team won 1-0 over Logan Elm to take the sectional title.

The Lady Generals only surrendered three hits and even turned in a triple play in the seventh to beat the fifth seeded Braves. Pitcher Liz Johnson hit the game winning sacrifice fly with the bases loaded in the seventh to score Spencer Snider.

The win gave Sheridan the sectional title and their 20th victory of the year. They move on to districts on Monday where they will play second seeded Meigs at Ohio University at 6:30 p.m.
