Sheriff Matt Lutz very thankful for receiving FOP endorsement

ZANESVILLE – Following a meeting last night, members of the Fraternal Order of Police – Zane Lodge # 5 declared their support for Lutz.
“It’s probably the most important endorsement that I can get, all endorsements are important and we go after a lot of endorsements but to be endorsed by your peers, to be endorsed by people that you’ve worked with over the last 31 years, and to be working with the guys that I work with now and seeing what they go through and for them to take time out of their busy schedules to come to a meeting and go through the endorsement process an support for FOP, it’s huge,” Muskingum County Sheriff Matt Lutz said.
Lutz is grateful for the backing of the FOP because he feels it is a credible source that could help people who may be undecided in who to vote for.
“A lot of stuff on Facebook is not true and I think when you start talking about the comradery of our people here and you start talking about my service to the community, I think there’s a big statement and the people look at this and say that the guys that work for him, the guys that work for him, are the ones who are supporting him,” Lutz said.
Joshua Weaver is running against Lutz in the November election. Weaver is the first candidate to challenge Lutz since 2008.
