Sobriety Checkpoint in Coshocton County

The Ohio State Highway Patrol announced plans for an OVI checkpoint in Coshocton County.

The Patrol, in conjunction with the Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office, said the checkpoint will take place Saturday evening. The exact time and location of the checkpoint will be announced Saturday morning.

The checkpoint, funded by federal grant funds, is planned to deter and intercept impaired drivers. State troopers make an average of 25-thousand o-v-i arrests each year, in an attempt to take as many dangerous drivers as possible off the road.

If you plan to consume alcohol, you are urged to designate a driver, or make other travel arrangements before you drink.
