Souper Bowl A Success

ZANESVILLE, Ohio-The annual Souper Bowl food drive was held today at Secrest Auditorium and was a great success.
Volunteers from area churches and charity groups made the drop off as seamless as possible. Dr. David Klein is the chairman for the Souper Bowl benefit and thinks this year’s turnout was a rousing success.
“We have been ecstatic about the number of people helping out. They’re coming out to donate food, they’ve been collecting food for the last month or so for the community, and bringing it in by the carload. We’re stacking up, they’re also buying tickets, which are just for the prizes we’re going to have.”
Volunteers come from Christ Table and Eastside Community Ministries among other food pantries. Klein says the volunteer work has been fantastic.
“We have the most wonderful volunteers. Starting with our steering community and coming down to just everybody who has come to help load boxes and crates. They have got to be the greatest people in the world.”
Donations to food pantries can still be made at their respective locations.
