St. Paul AME Holds 2nd Annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner

St. Paul AME held their 2nd annual community Thanksgiving dinner Saturday evening.
Anyone who cared for a hot meal was welcome to come to join in the holiday festivities. Costalla Haley, Community Outreach Coordinator at St. Paul AME shared with us the goal for the event.
"Our goal is to reach out and help those–feed those and fellowship with those who are less fortunate. You know, we’re trying to target the homeless and just those who are less fortunate in general. We’re trying to bring them in. Free meal for all."
Ham, turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, dressing, rolls and cranberry sauce were among the different foods served. Haley told us events like these are beneficial to the community.
"…Belonging. They feel that someone cares. You know, bringing them into the church and they’re not pressured in having to pay to eat. It’s free, it’s strictly donations and they can just come in and fill their bellies…there’s those who aren’t, who don’t have a family to sit down and have a meal with so our goal is to make everyone feel welcome."
Enough food was prepared for an expected 150 individuals.
