Starlight Industries get the Green Light for Building Renovations

Starlight Industries is planning a renovation on its Zane Street building.

Starlight had 65 employees on waivers for 18 months and they are now back. The company is renovating to add necessary office space for those extra employees. Superintendent, John Hill, met with the Muskingum County Commissioners today to get approval for the project.

"Currently we have service coordination offices in that building plus central office staff, so we’re just kind of replicating four additional offices to accommodate the new people," Hill said.

The county owns the zane street building, so hill needed approval for the renovation. With getting the commissioners approval starlight industries now moves into the bid process. Hill expects the process to last four to six weeks with construction immediately following.

"The county commissioners own our buildings, and so our county board of DD approved the project last thursday at our regular meeting and I wanted to come to the commissioners to get that second level of approval before we actually go out for bid," Hill said.

The project will cost around $50,000. Hill said the funds have been raised from Starlight’s tax levy.
