State Auditor Visits Zanesville

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Ohio Auditor Dave Yost visited Zanesville on Thursday to talk with local community leaders and hear their concerns.

The Republican auditor said that he likes to get out of Columbus every once-and-a-while to talk with civic leaders in what he called ‘The Heart of Ohio.’

“You look at Zanesville and it’s everything about Ohio. We’ve got strong transportation, and logistics is around here and part of Ohio’s economy. Agriculture is a big part of Ohio’s economy and we’ve still got some town sensibility in Zanesville,” said Yost.

Auditor Yost talked with about a dozen people at the Welcome Center and listened to their concerns. He also talked about the growing rise in cyber attacks to government agencies.

“We’ve had an uptick in cyber attacks against government and government finical accounts,” said Yost. “And economic activity, jobs and development is always important. I’m also interested in hearing what’s going on in their world.”

Auditor Yost said he hopes to make a return to Zanesville again soon.
