Storybook Christmas is Finishing Off With Final Events

The Zanesville Muskingum Convention and Visitors Bureau Storybook Christmas is rolling out their final events.
Kelly Ashby, the Vice-President of Zanesville Chamber of Commerce said that the carriage rides are sold out, but still encourages the community to come out to enjoy the additional activities.
“But we still invite everyone to come downtown, enjoy the hot chocolate that we will have, enjoy the carolers and enjoy the Storybook Christmas characters, and certainly take advantage of all the beautiful lights that are downtown, at Zane’s Landing and of course at the Courthouse,” Ashby stated.
The carriage rides will be this Friday from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Ashby said residents can stop by to see if there’s any open spaces for those who might not show up.
With Storybook Christmas coming to an end before Christmas, Ashby shares her experience with the first annual event.
“It has been phenomenal. We have had a great time, we’ve had wonderful community response and we’ve had guests come in from out of town to enjoy all of the activities as well. We absolutely loved kicking all off with the parade and with the Festival of Trees. We’ve just had a blast and we’ve certainly enjoyed spreading holiday cheer throughout the community,” Ashby said.
Final events include the Jingle Jam concert this Friday night at Secrest Auditorium, open houses this weekend with the Muskingum County History of Putnam, and a final movie showing this coming Monday of the Polar Express.
There is also a traditional coloring contest taking place and residents can visit the Welcome Center or the John McIntire Library to pick up the coloring sheets.
