Strike Out Breast Cancer Tournament

ZANESVILLE, OH- Breast cancer affects millions of women a year, but one local group is looking to strike out breast cancer.

The annual Strike Out Breast Cancer Bowling Tournament fundraiser takes place on Saturday, February 4th. The proceeds for the tournament will go towards the Genesis Breast Cancer Center and getting women wigs, prosthetics, bra’s and a free mammogram.

“The funds go straight there and anybody who is not able to have insurance that will cover those items because some insurances will, some insurances won’t. That money is there to help them get something so that they have something to get back in that normal state.” Chairperson Tammy Hildenbrand said.

Hildenbrand also said that after she went through her experience of having breast cancer, she wants to share her story with others and let them know that they have choices.

“I just try to share my knowledge of what I went through and always let women know that hey, you know what, you have choices and these are the things that you can go to and these are the resources that we have here in Muskingum County at our Breast Cancer Center. Because those folks over there know what they’re doing and their main goal is the quality of life while you’re going through these things and getting back to the most normal state that you possibly can.”

The tournament will take place at Sunrise Bowling Center in Zanesville on Saturday at 12:30 pm, the entry fee is $20.
