Strong second half sends Sheridan to district championship game

CHILLICOTHE, Ohio – The Sheridan Lady Generals held Miami Trace to just eight second half points to get the 42-29 win over Miami Trace and move on to district championship game.

The third seeded Lady Generals started sluggish and trailed top seed Miami Trace 21-16 at half. But the General’s seconds half defense helped them overcome the deficit and advance.

Rachel Cook lead the way with 15 points for Sheridan. Jena Wharton also scored 11.

The Lady Generals will play for the district title on Wednesday against Washington Courthouse. Washington Courthouse beat Vinton County 69-53 in the game before Sheirdan’s to get to the district title.
