The 28th Annual Groundhog Day Auction and Celebration

ZANESVILLE, OH- The Muskingum County Community Foundation is celebrating their fundraising efforts.
Their 28th annual Groundhog Day event was back in person this year for the first time since 2020, the event included a silent and live auction. Donor Services and Media Relations Manager Christy Rahrig said that all money raise benefits their annual Spring Grant Competition that begins in March.
“I believe just from the auctions alone we raised around $30,000 but when you combine our corporate sponsors, our table sponsors, we also sold golden tickets and we did a wine pull sale, we brought in $70,000.”
Rahrig also said that the event was also a chance to honor Heather Devoll with the Brian T. Wagner Community Leadership Award and Jim Nicholson with the Dick Johnson Civic Leadership Award.
“Both of those individuals were recognized that evening and they got to give a speech to kind of talk about the ways that they’ve interacted with the community and how appreciated they were of being recognized.”
Over 300 people attended this year’s fundraiser.
