The Salvation Army’s Women’s Auxiliary is Reminding the Community to Turn in Gifts For Angel Tree

MUSKINGUM COUNTY, Ohio- Christmas is around the corner and the Salvation Army’s Women’s Auxiliary is encouraging those who took part of the Angel Tree Distribution Day to submit the angels soon.
This project allowed anyone to pick an angel from trees at Colony Square Mall and other locations, and donate what is provided on the list to a family in need this holiday season. So far, there have been 570 angels returned, which means there are over 250 angels still needing to be turned in, according to Beth Archer, President of the Women’s Auxiliary.
“I think all of our Women’s Auxiliary members love this project. It is one that is overwhelming. We think the first couple of days when we’re doing it, we’re never going to see the end of it because there are so many packages, but today when we got a count, we thought we’re going to be able to finish this up so we’ll be able to give our gifts away on Wednesday and Thursday of next week,” Archer stated.
Even though the process can get overwhelming, Archer shared how the end result and the bright light they bring to the family is very worth it.
“We’re expecting to have a few days to get ready for our own Christmas and I know that we’ll be relieved, and we’ve already started talking about next Christmas on how we can change it to make it even more efficient,” Archer said.
The community can return their angels to the Salvation Army by 4:30 p.m. today or tomorrow at the back of the building. Someone will be there to assist with the Christmas items between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.
