Three Arrested Following Traffic Stop

Three men are in custody in Guernsey County following a Monday night traffic stop.

The Guernsey County Sheriff’s said just before 8 p.m. on East Wheeling Avenue two deputies observed a traffic infraction involving a vehicle operated by a 21-year-old Cleveland man. Two other occupants included a 22-year-old man also from Cleveland and a 23-year-old Cambridge man.

A sheriff’s office K9 conducted an open-air sniff of the vehicle and gave a positive indication. Deputies then searched the vehicle and found suspected narcotics, a loaded handgun on one of the occupants and cash.

All three subjects are being held in the Guernsey County Jail. Evidence seized was sent to the BCI Crime Lab for testing. Investigators continue to investigate and multiple search warrants have been executed resulting from the traffic stop.
