Three MVL wrestlers advance at state wrestling tournament

COLUMBUS, Ohio – A Tri-Valley Scottie and two New Lexington Panthers won and advanced at the OHSAA state wrestling tournament at the Schottenstein Center.

Teammates Dimitri Williams and Justice Freeman both won in the Division II. In the 170-pound weight class Williams took down Daniel Greiner from Batavia with a 15-0 tech fall. Freeman in the 113-pound weight class pinned Leondre Cooley of Sandusky.

In Division I’s 132-weight class, Tri-Valley’s Luke Hernandez won a 6-5 decision against Gavin Bell of Beaverton. Hernandez will advance to compete in the quarterfinals Friday against Luke Baughman of Wadsworth.
